2. General information on data processing

The protection of your personal data is important to us. Personal data is only processed on the Moodle learning platform if this is necessary for the provision and use of the platform or if there is a legal basis. Processing is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Provision and use of the learning platform: This includes in particular the registration, authentication and administration of user accounts as well as the implementation of teaching and learning processes. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

    In particular, the following personal data is processed on the Moodle platform:

    • Master data such as name, user name and email address
    • Authentication data such as encrypted passwords
    • Course and learning data such as course affiliations, activities, learning progress, test results and submitted content
    • Communication data such as forum posts, messages or comments
    • Technical usage data such as IP address, date and time of access and log data

    5. Disclosure of data to third parties

    Personal data will only be passed on to third parties if this is necessary to fulfill the contractual services, if there is a legal obligation or if external services are integrated into course content. In such cases, data processing is carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations. External services may be subject to their own privacy policies.

    If data is transferred to service providers or providers outside the European Union or the European Economic Area when using the platform, this will only be done in compliance with legal requirements. Suitable guarantees such as EU standard contractual clauses are used where necessary
